We make sure that all of our authors are qualified, dedicated teachers, examiners or academics, looking to inspire students to get the most out of their revision, and perform the best they can in exams. Meet some of the team below:

George Webb – Founder and CEO
Having previously worked in digital medical training, George saw an opportunity to bring the same benefits to students studying for their GCSE exams. Coming from a technical background, working as a software developer for large corporations such as the BBC, George decided to set up his own company that would bring syllabus based revision quizzes straight to students via their mobile phones. Revision Buddies has since developed large banks of GCSE revision material that is delivered via phone app and website. Interactive topic presentations and class enrolment are just some of the recent exciting additions to be added to the platform. George loves his work and is committed to the creation of high quality content that is easily accessible to all.

Justine Tannenbaum – Head of GCSE Content
Justine is a First Class History Graduate with vast tutoring and ed-tech experience. As a student, Justine accomplished seven A*’s in her GCSE’s, and then went on to achieve straight A’s in four AS levels and top grades in her A’levels – one of which was taken a year early and two of which were awarded full marks! She was also awarded distinction in her Cambridge Pre-U for Philosophy & Theology. Justine is currently working at Revision Buddies as the Head of Content as she is keen to channel her enthusiasm and determination for success onto the candidates who use the software (including the students that she tutors in History and Maths). In particular, Justine has enjoyed writing over 6,000 multiple-choice questions and explanations for the 9-1 GCSE History Content which is carefully curated against the AQA, OCR and Edexcel syllabi.

Colin Stobart – Head of Mathematics, Assistant Examiner, Published Author
Colin is currently Head of Mathematics at Sherborne International, a part of Sherborne School in Dorset where he has been since 2008. Sherborne International is 100% boarding and specialises in taking students of international background, so no student has English as a first language. Prior to this he spent over 20 years at international schools in Malaga, Spain and Kuwait City. Throughout most of this time he has been Head of Department or Head of Secondary/ Assistant Head. As well as writing the blog Maths GCSE , in which he covers all issues regarding Maths GCSE, Colin is an Assistant Examiner for Cambridge International Examinations marking GCSE/IGCSE and A2 levels each November and June. He is also a published author working with HarperCollins on IGCSE texts. Colin is a keen traveller and has explored extensively around the Middle and Far East.

Emma Harper - Maths Teacher, Examiner and Tutor
Emma has been a Maths teacher for 11 years and has been a Second in Department for 6 years, she has been Maths tutor for even longer, teaching students from KS2 up to A-Level. As well as teaching Maths, she has also been an examiner for AQA GCSE.
Emma loves to spend her time away from education outdoors with her family; hiking, camping, swimming and exploring.

Nicola Wileman - Lead Practitioner of English and Key Stage 4 Coordinator
Nikki has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, as well as a Master’s Degree in Education. She has taught GCSE and A Level English in comprehensive schools for 10 years and is currently Lead Practitioner of English and Key Stage 4 Coordinator. In her Lead Practitioner role, Nikki is responsible for the improvement of teaching and learning across the school. Nikki is passionate about teaching English and particularly loves teaching Victorian literature.

Scott Williams- Head of Geography, Exam Moderator, Tutor
Scott Williams is passionate about his subject and has been Head of Geography at an 11-18 comprehensive school based in the Midlands for 5 years. As well as his day to day teaching and part time GCSE tutoring, he has also moderated exams for AQA. His excitement and enthusiasm sometimes take students by surprise, but it is this that he uses to motivate, encourage and inspire learning and understanding. He loves the outdoors and relishes in stories about how the landscapes he is in have been formed, much to the delight of his companions and long suffering partner, Kelly.

Joseph Durkan - Head of Geography, Eco Schools Coordinator and Pupil Premium Lead
Joe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and has 10 years teaching experience having taught both in Ireland and England. He has experience of wider responsibilities within school settings including eco schools coordinator and pupil premium lead and has recently been made Head of Geography in a Wiltshire school. Joe is passionate about Geography and loves igniting that interest of the subject in students. Outside of school Joe loves to travel and has ventured to five of the seven continents so far with South America and Antarctica next on the wish list.

Dr. Hanna Beyer – Teacher, Online Tutor, PhD in Chemical Biology
Hanna is a qualified teacher and holds a PhD in Chemical Biology. As well as her qualifications she helps students with online tutoring for their exams in all areas of science, which she has done for over 6 years. Prior to her teaching, she contributed to science academia as well as working as a research and biomedical scientist.

Vincent Scholier - Chemistry Teacher, Examiner, Author and Tutor
Vincent is a qualified Chemistry teacher with nearly 11 years experience teaching 11-18 year olds, in both the private and state sector. He also works as a private tutor, GCSE Examiner and is a published author, working with Cambridge University Press for the new IGCSE Chemistry Specification. Prior to this, he worked for 5 years as an environmental scientist. Vincent holds a first class degree in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia – MChem with a year in industry (Pfizer) and a Masters Degree in educational research from the University of Cambridge.

Sam Holyman - Author of best-selling Science books, CPD presenter and Science Teacher
Sam Holyman is an explosive science teacher who has worked in management at Comprehensive, Grammar and Independent schools in the Midlands, she is also an academic author. In 2001, she graduated from The University of Birmingham after reading Chemistry with Business Studies, and obtaining a PGCE in Secondary Science.
She has maintained an interest in innovated pedagogy and a keen advocate of appropriate ICT in the classroom. Formally West Midlands ASE President and nominated with the British Science Council as one of the top scientists (Education scientist category), she is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a Chartered Science Teacher and has a CPD quality mark as an Associate Facilitator for STEM Learning.
Sam brings her insight into the GCSE Biology curriculum by preparing the Revision Buddies AQA Biology and part of the AQA Trilogy Science resources.

Brian Poxon – Head of Religious Studies, Published Author
Brian has taught RS for 16 years and has acted as head of department since 2003. His focus is on leading, inspiring and motivating secondary school students in their religious education, ethics and philosophy. As well as developing the GCSE content for Revision Buddies, he has also published AS and A-level revision guides for PushMe Press. In 2014 Brian left his position as head of Religious Studies at Wells Cathedral School, Somerset, for the warmer climes of Australia, where he is currently Head of Philosophical, Religious and Ethical Perspectives in Perth.
